Certain OnePurdue Fund Groups use three-character suffixes to group funds of similar types. Every fund group name begins with a seven-digit number that represents a cost center area. Within the base fund group, there is a second level of groups that further categorize funds by category: AUX for auxiliary funds, AWA for award funds, CGF for capital gift funds, GFT for gift funds, etc. Lastly, each category contains a further hierarchy of groups representing subcategories of funds for each category. For example, in the fund category GFT, there are seven subcategories thar represent types of guft funds. Generally, every new fund request includes assignment of the new fund to a fund group, fund group category, and fund group subcategory.
